Mistres Brown, I crossed Tennessee River this day. I enjoy very
good health at present hoping you all enjoy the same blessing. I
have only sold five of my mules as yet. I can't tell when I can sell
the balance. The times here are very hard. There is no money
in this state. I never saw such times in no state before. I
will go further to Montgomery County this state. I am determined
to sell before I come home or give them away. I do not believe I
can come home before this 1 of March next if then. You need not to
look for me ontill you see me for I will be very uncertain when I can sell
out my stock. You will please to get Joseph Sarver to mend the boys
shoes if they should need repairing. You will tell Joseph to do the
best he can for now till my return. Nothing more at present.
Remain your true husband till death.
My love to you,
Doctor G Brown
