These graves are in the wooded area at left of road just South of Rutherford. There is about a 1/2 acre plot listed in cemetery books as "Hooper Cemetery"

This tombstone was stolen about 1969 from the gravesite.
Burial site is at Pine Knob, Kentucky
Here is the tombstone of James T. Hopper (Born June28,1806-Died Dec. 1, 1880)
buried at Hopper cemetery, 4 miles
north and about 1/2 mile west of Clarence, Shelby Co., MO.

This is the chair that Dr. Bone carried the bodies of
Absolum and Dock from the killing scene in Rutherford,
Tennessee. Seated in the chair is Playwright Honus Shain
